DID YOU KNOW:
MAUNDY THURSDAY: Also known as Holyh Thursday, Great and Holy Thursday, and Thursday of Mysteries,
is the Christian feast or holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.
It is the fifth day of Holy Week, and is preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday . The date is always between 19 March and 22 April inclusive. These dates in the Julian Calendar, on which Eastern
churches in general base their calculations of the date of Easter, correspond throughout the twenty-first century to
April 1 and May 5 in the more commonly used
Gregorian calendar.
The Mass initiates the Easter Triduum, the three
days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday that
commemorate the Passion, Death and Resurrection
of Jesus. It is normally celebrated in the evening,
when according to Jewish tradition Friday begins.
PATRIOTS' DAY: Is a civic holiday commemorating the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord,
the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. It is observed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and state of Maine (once part of Massachusetts), and is a public school observance day in Wisconsin. Observances and re-enactments of these first battles
of the American Revolution occur annually at Lexington
Green in Lexington, Massachusetts and The Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts. In the morning, a mounted re-enactor with State Police escort retraces
Paul Revere's ride, calling out warnings the whole way.
